Power supply has been restored at Tesla Giga Berlin-Brandenburg following a suspected arson attack on a power pylon. The attack, which was claimed by an anti-Tesla group, caused widespread power outages in the area, forcing facilities in the Freienbrink industrial area to halt operations and impacting local hospitals.
Despite initial concerns about the extent of the damage, repairs were completed faster than anticipated by both Tesla and E.DIS, the regional electricity provider. Power was successfully restored on Monday evening, with Tesla confirming the news shortly after 9 p.m. The company is now working to resume operations at the facility.
E.DIS managing director took to LinkedIn to celebrate the successful restoration of power, acknowledging the hard work put in by all involved. Certified test engineers have conducted high-voltage measurements to ensure the power supply is stable and reliable.
The milestone in the repair process was reached with the successful restoration of power to Tesla and Edeka’s GVZ. This was achieved through the repair of a damaged 110 kv pylon, marking a significant step forward in getting operations fully back on track.
The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by companies operating in the area, and the importance of reliable power supply for industrial operations. Both Tesla and E.DIS are working diligently to prevent any similar incidents in the future and to ensure the continued smooth operation of the facility.
