Bungie, the game developer behind Destiny 2, has announced that the upcoming expansion, The Final Shape, has been delayed due to struggles and layoffs within the company. The Final Shape, originally scheduled for release in May, has now been pushed back to June, leaving a gap in content for players eagerly awaiting new updates.
In response to the delay, Bungie has revealed plans for a pseudo-season of content titled Destiny 2: Into the Light, set to launch on April 9. Into the Light will introduce the “BRAVE arsenal,” a collection of renewed older weapons tailored for the current state of the game. Initially, half of the BRAVE arsenal will be available at launch, with the remaining weapons being rolled out weekly over six weeks.
However, feedback from fans has prompted Bungie to revise their weapon rollout plan. The company has now adjusted the schedule to drop two weapons a week after launch, resulting in a three-week release timeline for the entire BRAVE arsenal. Bungie is also ensuring that players will have the opportunity to obtain guaranteed god rolls and limited variants of the new weapons through high drop rates.
This response from Bungie showcases their commitment to addressing player feedback and ensuring that fans are able to acquire the desired weapons in Destiny 2: Into the Light. Despite the setback with The Final Shape expansion, players can look forward to engaging with the BRAVE arsenal and other new content in the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates on Destiny 2 and Bungie’s ongoing efforts to enhance the gaming experience for fans.
