NASA’s SpaceX Dragon crew spacecraft is set to be relocated by four crew members aboard the International Space Station on Thursday, May 2. This relocation is necessary to make way for Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft, which will be docking at the space station in May.
The live coverage of this relocation process will begin at 7:30 a.m. EDT, with NASA astronauts and Roscosmos cosmonaut undocking the Dragon spacecraft from the forward-facing port of the Harmony module and re-docking it to the space-facing port. This will free up the forward-facing port for the docking of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
This will be the fourth time crew members will be relocating the Dragon spacecraft, following previous relocations during other missions. The Dragon spacecraft relocation is part of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-8 mission, which launched in March and is the eighth rotational crew mission from NASA and SpaceX as part of the Commercial Crew Program.
