A United Airlines Flight from San Francisco to Mexico City Makes Emergency Landing in Los Angeles
On Friday, United Airlines Flight 821 from San Francisco to Mexico City was forced to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles due to a hydraulic system failure. The aircraft, which had 105 passengers and five crew members on board, landed safely and passengers were deplaned normally at the gate.
Passengers are expected to continue their journey to Mexico City on a new flight, which is scheduled to depart soon. This incident marks the fourth involving a United jet this week, with other incidents including a plane skidding off a runway in Houston, a wheel falling off a plane above SFO, and flames shooting from the engine of a plane over Texas.
United Airlines has stated that the Airbus 320 aircraft involved in the incident has three hydraulic systems for redundancy, with preliminary information suggesting an issue with one system. Eyewitnesses reported the incident after a tire fell off a United flight departing from San Francisco International Airport.
