Houston Astros pitcher Bryan Abreu has been suspended for intentionally hitting Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis García during Game 5 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS). The incident occurred in the eighth inning when Abreu hit García with a 98.9 mph fastball, leading to a confrontation between García and catcher Martín Maldonado. As a result, Abreu, García, and Astros Manager Dusty Baker were ejected from the game by the umpiring crew.
Abreu’s suspension has caused concern for the Astros, as the talented pitcher has been a key player for the team throughout the regular season and postseason.
