Spotify’s “Superpremium” Service Set to Launch with Exciting Features
Music streaming giant, Spotify, is reportedly preparing to release its highly anticipated “Superpremium” offering. The news comes after references to the new service were discovered in the app’s code by tech aficionado, Chris Messina.
The Superpremium service is said to bring a range of impressive features for music lovers. Among them are 24-bit lossless audio, AI playlist generation tools, advanced mixing functionality, extended hours for audiobook listening, and a personalized offering called “Your Sound Capsule.”
Interestingly, Spotify had previously kept tight-lipped about the development of AI playlists and the introduction of new features. However, the reference to the Superpremium brand had already been detected in the app’s code before today’s discovery.
Eagle-eyed Reddit user Hypixely had previously mentioned that the subscription for this new tier would be priced at $19.99 per month, a figure that includes the benefits of AI playlists and lossless audio.
Spotify’s CEO, Daniel Ek, had hinted at the possibility of utilizing Hi-Fi to increase prices in the future. However, he emphasized that the primary focus was to revamp the service to cater to a wider audience.
Superpremium users can look forward to a variety of filtering options for their music libraries. They will be able to sort their collection based on mood, activity, or genre, with choices like vibe and beats per minute also available as filtering criteria.
In addition to these exciting features, the Superpremium service will offer an impressive 20-30 hours of audiobook listening – a significant increase compared to the recently announced 15 free hours for Premium subscribers.
One intriguing aspect of Spotify’s Superpremium is the renaming of the Soundcheck feature as “Your Sound Capsule.” It is speculated that this may be linked to Spotify’s much-touted “playlist in a bottle” experience.
References to something called Highlights were also discovered in Spotify’s code. This feature appears to resemble Last.fm-like listening statistics, adding yet another layer of interest and personalization to the Superpremium service.
When approached for comment, Spotify declined to provide further details on these new findings. However, the leaked information has undoubtedly generated a wave of excitement among music enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the launch of Superpremium. Stay tuned to “The Puck Drop” for future updates on this highly anticipated release.
