Universal Studios Hollywood Backlot Tour Turns Into Real-Life Drama for One Family
In a turn of events that no one expected, what was supposed to be a fun family outing at Universal Studios Hollywood turned into a real-life nightmare for Rebecca Miller and her family. They were on one of the last trams of the night when the unthinkable happened – the tram ahead of them crashed, injuring 15 people.
The incident occurred when the tram in front of Miller’s family’s tram struck a rail due to brake issues, causing some passengers to fall out. The Los Angeles County Fire Department quickly responded to the scene after an emergency call around 9 p.m.
Thankfully, Universal Studios reported that the injuries were minor and stated that safety remains their top priority. The theme park is currently working with authorities to review the accident and prevent any future mishaps.
Miller’s family was stuck on the tram for over an hour until about 10:15 p.m. Despite the incident, the park remained open for a scheduled Girl Scouts event. The tram tour is a signature attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, and it is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary of the ride next week.
Prior to the crash, passengers on an earlier tram that evening had reported experiencing smoke and a noxious odor coming from the brake pads. However, they were swiftly transferred to another tram for the remainder of the tour.
As the investigation continues, guests at Universal Studios can rest assured that the theme park is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of its visitors.
